A SERVICE OF LOVE


A Service of Love , is a beautiful story written by O HANRY. It is a story of two lovers of art. JOI Larrabee came from the Middle West. He had a genius for paonting. Even at the age of six,he drew a picture of the town pump with an important citizen passing it in hurry.This picture got the place in the drug store window. when he became twenty years old, he left for New York with a small capital.
Another artist named Delia Caruthers came from the South. She was a promising singer. Her relative collected a small amount for her to go New York to learn music.
Both Joe and Delia met each other in an Art studio.They fell in love and in a short time,they got married.When one loves one Art, no service seems too hard.

Ms. and Mrs. Larrabee began to live in a flate. It was a lonely place.But they were very happy.They had their art and they had each other.
Joe began to paint in the class of the great Megister, a famous painter. his fees were high. Delia began to study music under Rosenstok, a famous musician.
These two artists were very happy till there money lasted. Their aims were very clear. Joe would learn to paint picture and sell them. Delia wanted to master in playing the piano. she excepted to fill concert hall all over the counter with the audience Who whould play twice the usual rate to hear music.

But the most important for them was their home life in their little flate - They had the warm chats after the day's learning ;the pleasent dinner and fresh, light breakfast, the exchane hope, the help and love they give each other on foring soil.
But then art became weak. Their money began to be spent and nohing come in. They were not in a position to pay fees to mr. magister and mrRosenstok. But they did not lose their hearts. Delia decided to give music lessons to earn money.

She began to look for pupils. One evening she got one love list pupils. She was Gerenal S.B.Pinkeny's daughter named Clementina.she was a delicate girl who always dressed in when she got had to give three lissons a week for five dollars a lessons. she would start her lessons when she go to three more pupils. She would also continue her lessons with Mr. Rosenstok.
Joe also decided to sell pictures and earn money. Delia advised her husbend not to leave his art and lessons because while she taught, giving lessons. but when one love one's art, no sercive seems to hard.

During the next week, the larrabee had an early breakfast. she was much interested in the pictures of morning effect. Delia packed him off, hugged praised and kissed at 7 o'clock. It is said that art is a charming mistress. He returned at 7 'clock in the evening.
At the end of the week, Delia put three five dollars bi'ls on the table for the sitting room.
Both are talking about their student's progress.

And then Joe with pride drew forth a ten a five, a two and a one - all new dollers notes and put them near Delia's earning.
He said that she sold that water colour of the town in a man from peoria. He also orderded another oil sketch. They had earned thirty two dollars enough to buy oysters and champagne.
On the next saturday evening he reached home first. He put eighteen dollars on the the dining table and washed his paint stained hands.
After half an hour Delia comes. Her right hand was tried up a shapeless bundle of wrap and bandage. Joe asked what had happened. She replied that Clementina in serving the Welsh Rabbit, spilled a great deal of boiling hot over her hand and wrist and she was hurt.
At five o'clock Delia told her husband that she was burnt while ironing the shirts in that big Twent Four street laundry. When she was burnt, she was investing the story of Welsh Rabbit on her way to home. Joe also confessed that he was working the engine in there laundry for the last week.
Both of then began to laugh and said.
